THE 2026 SHOW HAS NOW ENDED

Thanks to our community and artists for a fantastic event!

The 50th Annual Community Art Show and Sale, sponsored by the Woman's Club of Chevy Chase, was held from March 20-22, 2026.  Featuring more than 450 works of art from more than 130 local artists, the event showcased the amazing  talent in our community and offered appealing original art at affordable prices.   See the list of participating artists.

Artwork was exhibited and judged in 10 categories: Oil, Acrylic, Pastel, Watercolor, Mixed Media, Portraits, Prints & Drawings, Photography, Smalls, and Other Media (for 2-D works in fine craft media such as glass, wood, metal, and paper).   See the Awards page for a list of award recipients, including Best in Show and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention in each category.  Links to the photos and a recording of the awards presentation with judge's comments are also available on the Awards page.

Judge for the 2026 Art Show

This year’s show judge was Jack Rasmussen, who has been Director and Curator of the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, Washington, DC since it opened in 2005.

A native of Seattle, Rasmussen moved to the DC area in 1973 and completed an MFA in Painting, MA in Arts Management, and MA and PhD in Anthropology at American University. He worked for the Education Department of the National Gallery of Art before becoming Assistant Director of the Washington Project for the Arts when it opened in 1975. He left this position to run the Jack Rasmussen Gallery from 1978 to 1983, and since then has directed Rockville Arts Place (VisArts), Maryland Art Place, and di Rosa, a contemporary art museum and sculpture garden in Napa, California. Rasmussen is past President of the Maryland State Arts Council and the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums.
