DOORS TO DEMOCRACY

Free and Open to the Public

Come see local artists' Creation of their Vision of Democracy with doors unearthed during the renovation of a church from 1891.

These doors were discovered in an old church, Avery Lodge Free Methodist Church in Derwood, MD, after an artist bought the property to use as a studio.   The church was full of debris, and 24 doors were found to be reused/recycled.  A collaborative group of artists, activists and members of a suburban Maryland community then created an art installation "Doorways to Democracy" by turning the salvaged doors into a powerful call for civic action.

Date/Time

Come see their work on Sunday, June 22, from 2-4pm
